SmartWatt Energy, Inc.’s Syracuse and Corporate Offices Grow with New Staff
Albany, NY—November 18, 2011—SmartWatt Energy, Inc. is pleased to announce that Melissa Canales-Rosales, Megan Guilford, and Kyle Utter have joined the company. Megan Guilford and Melissa Canales-Rosales have joined the company’s Syracuse, NY office as a Sales Representative and an Operations Intern, respectively, while Kyle Utter was hired as an Associate Accountant in the company’s corporate office in Albany, NY.
SmartWatt Energy is a leading nationwide provider of turnkey energy efficiency solutions for commercial, industrial, government and utility customers. The company has seen a significant amount of growth in their utility-based small business energy efficiency programs in the past year.

Megan Guilford recently graduated from the State University of New York Environmental Science and Forestry with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies-Biological Applications and a minor in Renewable Energy. While a student, she conducted a two year long independent research on Energy Return on Investment, where she gained extensive experience as an Energy Analyst. Most recently Megan worked as a Safety Ranger at Green Lakes State Park. She will be responsible for generating leads and developing new small business customers in Northern and Central New York.
Melissa Canales-Rosales is currently attending Syracuse University, working towards her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She has also interned in sales at Frito Lay North America, where she was responsible for analyzing and maintaining the company’s customer relationships. At Syracuse University, Melissa is active as an Assistant Project Leader for the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), a student computer consultant, a writer for the university’s newspaper The Daily Orange, and a member of the Student Technology Committee. She will be responsible for aiding SmartWatt Energy’s small business program team in the documentation and coordination of all lighting upgrade projects.
Kyle Utter most recently worked at Opportunities for Otsego, Inc. as a Staff Accountant, where he was responsible for all phases in the accounting process. He has also worked as a Tax Associate for Chad A. Burrows, CPA, and File Clerk for Wilber National Bank. Kyle graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a minor in Business. He will be responsible for accounting tasks within SmartWatt Energy’s utility program accounting group.
